A smile and a blush for charity

Guys - I know this is cheesy - but I had to do it - MNET Breast Cancer Awareness luncheon took place yesterday (Oct 28) at the ICC - on a personal note - I had to lend my support, as this cause is close to me, with regards to my late sister.
On a lighter side of things - This is another experience altogether - what with over 400 women in one room, a couple of bottles of wine, bra's where coming off (for the cause, it was a donation drive) and loads of wolf whistles...... if I am going to be honest here, I blushed like there was no tomorrow, and worst of all, it was caught on camera - hence that cheesy grin when I came out on stage modelling clothes from Markhams.
But, as you see - I was not alone - I had other male supporters with Marius from MNET, Lendel from Idols and Jeslin a good friend and model.
The bottom line here was to raise money to buy mobile units to go out on the road and educate women who do not have access to proper facilities and of course for educational purposes.
It was a fun afternoon - and, even when I got off the stage - trust me - the blushing did not stop, who knew what happens when a "bunch of women" get together.....next time, I will be prepared for another fun day out for another great cause to offer my services at!

Meet the press

It was really great when the Ilanga Newspaper took interest in the MrSA 2010 - I am still a "bit nervous" when chatting to the media - so I find myself taking a couple of seconds to answer before I respond to their questions.... I am sure with time my interview "technique" will improve - or practice makes perfect!!!!!

My Mr SA 2010 family

Well - here is my "new family" for the next couple of months - and you know what - everyone is so cool!
I have to be honest - When I initially met them I thought (to myself) there will be so much "sussing each other out" - but these guys were all "regular dudes" and eager to connect with each other, that after a short while I was able to "let my guard down" and just relax and enjoy the experience!
Hey guys - did we not have a jol at the show - it was a great evening and something that I will remember for some time!
So - to my Mr SA 2010 "family" - good luck to all of us and let's have fun with it and enjoy!

Stepping of the plane

When I arrived back in Durban after the finals on Sunday, S&A Marketing (one of Durban's leading PR Companies) arranged for media to meet and greet me - I have to be honest - I did blush alot, as it was so unexpected - but, inside, I have to be honest, I felt like a "movie star". Oh well, another experience "under my belt" - lots more lying ahead of me!!!

How cool is this

Thanks Ons Huis for this - I really appreciate it!

Spotted in Durban Magazine

Spotted out at uShaka Marine World at the launch of Sing it Sista - what a fab show - and the talent is unbelieveable - in no time - I was tapping my foot, then onto my fingers against the table and before I knew it - I found myself "lip syncing" to songs - then you know, it has to be a great show. Well done cast!!
